A little while back I signed up for Sock Madness - an aptly named group if there ever was one. You can learn all about it at http://sockmadness.wordpress.com/ . The first pattern was distributed to the contestants last Saturday (3/10). When it was time for me to leave for my freeform class at The Knitter's Cottage I checked the flickr group to see if anyone was posting and discovered that a number of people were already on their second sock! So much for feeling good about being at the heel on my first sock. When my division closed on Monday I slowed down, but did finish them this week. Even when I was commuting by train and focusing on sock knitting on the train I took about two weeks to knit a pair of socks, so I'm still rather impressed by knitting these in one week:
In other sock news, I joined the Flock Sock club this year. I received my first kit a few weeks ago and can't resist including a photo of this. The blue is one of the prettiest I've ever seen:

That's some fast sock knitting! At least by my standards! I've had fun going through your blog posts and I'm very impressed that you managed to get such an accurate count of your stash yardage. I love the pictures--I took some of mine, but I haven't had the nerve to post them all to my blog--just a few. Maybe I'll reconsider? I'm inspired!
